Making a post from E's (affectionately known as Kita) apartment. I came over to do laundry. E (or K if you prefer) is a truly generous friend, I was running low on clean clothes. I just finished helping her clean her room. I am spending the night tonight. In the morning I will be making up a lab I missed while I was at the Masters.
This weekend and today I have been so productive. I just turned in a five page paper and presented my project in Tourism. I wore my little girl patent leather nude shoes that I adore to give the presentation. I did so much schoolwork over the weekend. I also laid out at the pool here at USC and read the new InStyle magazine and found time to exercise. I watched two movies and liked them both. I rented Match Point with Scarlett Johanson and Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith. Pursuit of Happyness is Will Smith's best film yet. The story is so inspiring. If you ever think you have it bad, watch this movie. I would recommend it to anyone.
This week will be somewhat busy for me, but it is my last week of school. I have total spring fever and cannot wait for my summer to start! Monday is my last day of classes. I will be in a dance showcase that night. Tuesday is my last day at work, then I will migrate home for the summer. Saturday May 5th is my one and only final, I am coming back to Columbia to take it.
I begin at my summer internship Monday May 7th. I cleverly planned to do nothing the 2nd-4th as to give myself a little mini vacation before I start my summer job. I like to go to the apartments I lived in during 2003 (Cedarwood) and lay out at their pool. The pool is nice and there is hardly ever anyone there. I love privacy, which you don't have much of at the Strom Thurmond Center Pool. I still need to shed about five pounds to be in prime bikini condition.
I am looking forward to the vacation Shawn and I are planning. We are trying to coordinate our schedules to go in June. So far we are considering Myrtle Beach (Shawn plays a lot of golf) or Savannah (I have never been and really want to go).
So, goodnight from the "Kita Pit"!!!

Too Cute
I got two bathing suits from Shawn for Christmas. A fabulous lifting, tucking, and shaping Zebra print and a brown one. So it may be excessive that I saw this one in Lucky magazine and now I want it too. It is just too cute. And if we go on vacation for three days and four nights I would have a different suit for everyday! I hate to put on a wet suit from the day before, I prefer putting on a fresh dry suit. A tip about caring for swim suits-wash by hand with a mild soap, such as hand soap or shampoo, and allow to air dry (don't wring out very much). Machine washing and drying breaks down the material in swim suits and makes them lose their shape and support much faster. Bank of America has put a four day hold on my Masters money so it will be Wednesday or Thursday before I have access to it. Bank of America ruined my weekend shopping plans. They are hinky that way.

Is It Just Me or...
are there some really unflattering clothes in style right now? Like these shirts from Banana Republic. Usually I love Banana Republic and I still do like plenty of their stuff but it just seems like right now these big roomy shapeless shirts are in all the stores. Do these tops look good on anyone? I know they don't look good on me. I mean these tops look like maternity wear! (and I could think of nothing worse in the world than being pregnant, kids are cute and all but I'll just enjoy other people's-they are way too much work) And what is even worse there are a bunch of dresses in stores right now that are like long versions of these shirts.
Plans to treat myself...
My check from my week working at the Masters came. I need some new makeup, especially some new eye makeup. I plan on making a visit to Benefit this weekend. And Bobbi Brown for summer lip gloss or lip stick (maybe both). Ruby, which is the lipstick I have always worn by Bobbi Brown, is just feeling too dark for summer. I'll try to control myself...I have a bad feeling I might try to get out of control...
These are some items I would like to test...I won't be getting the Kate Spade makeup bag, but I do like it. I have a cowgirl makeup bag I have had for a few years. I love it too much to ever replace it and when it finally wears out it will be a very sad day. It came from a store in Texas called Cowgirls and Lace.
Plans for the weekend, working on a presentation for my Tourism class that is due Monday, Statistics and a take home final for HRTM 270. Other than that I plan on resting a lot so I can get over this cold (still having sore throat, sore muscles, sinus stuff, coughing, congestion) and maybe renting some movies. I am staying here this weekend in order to get all of this work done and I will be missing Shawn. ;(

Tuesday
Feeling much better today. While life goes along as usual here at The Bubble my thoughts go out to those whose lives were shattered yesterday. I just wonder why someone would do something like this?
On a lighter note, it looks like I will only be taking one out of five finals. Yay! Since the only one I have to take is on Saturday, May 5th I will probably move home for the summer on the 30th after my last class. I will just drive up for the final on May 5th, which is in the evening and is Statistics. I'm not certain yet what to do that week. I could stay in Columbia and work at my job here or I could let my last day be the 30th. At home I'm not sure if I should try to go ahead and start my internship so I can start getting hours or if I should just lay around all week. It would be really nice to lay around all week, get some sun, and spend some time with Shawn. On the other hand I am wondering (if it is even possible) if it would be wiser to go ahead and start working at the internship so I can accumulate hours and therefore be able to take off more time later in the summer for say my birthday (23!) or when Shawn and I go on vacation.
Today in dance class we did warmups to the soundtrack from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. Great Soundtrack. So get your jazz hands ready for the playlist

Not Feeling Well...
It is 7:11 AM and I am not feeling well. At all. I guess it really started this weekend. All I wanted to do all weekend was sleep. And I had a sinus headache the whole time. I didn't think I was sick, just tired. I did feel well enough to go have some phenomenal Mexican at La Fogata on Pearman Dairy Road with my Mom Sunday afternoon. Then last night, I was on the phone with Shawn, hearing all about his adventures at the outback and I very suddenly got a sore throat. It was so bad all night it woke me up several times. OUCH! I am about to go take my Statistics test (which I would be more prepared for it I didn't feel so awful). Lets hope I can keep my B average. Then I am walking over to the Thomson Student Health Center. The only good thing about it being so early is there probably won't be a line of students ahead of me. I hope they can give me something that starts to work SOON. After the Health Center I plan on coming back to my room and resting/napping until time to get ready for my 5:30 class, Tourism. It is a fun class. When I get enough napping I plan on watching my DVD's. Some examples include The Notebook (my favorite), Rosemary's Baby (another favorite), St. Elmo's Fire and In Her Shoes.
This is me last Thursday, before I became under the weather.
In the top photo I am pictured with my friend, the lovely and talented Lindsay Keane. To hear her music, go here.

McCutchen House Must Haves
This is the historic McCutchen House on the horseshoe here at USC. I spend about six hours a week here cooking in my HRTM 270 class. Next semester I will be serving food in my HRTM 370 class, which is also located at the McCutchen House. Today I stole a spare moment to sample the key lime pie at the McCutchen House. It is to die for. The best I have ever had, anywhere, ever.
Masters Must Haves
After my long long week I decided on what the best food and beverages at the Masters are. If you ever go, this is what you must have:
1. Pimento Cheese sandwich...yum!
2. Azaela (vodka, lemonade and cranberry juice)
3. Transfusion (vodka, sprite and grape juice)

Save It For A Rainy Day
Today was a gloomy and rainy day. All day. Right now as I type I can hear the rain falling on my window. Hopefully the weather will return to warm and sunny over the weekend. I am ready for summer!
My visit with Shawn was so much fun. He came in last night and left after lunch today. As always, I hate to see him go. He was excited to recieve all the gifts I got him at the Masters. We ate Carrabbas last night and watched TV along with entertaining the puppy I have been sitting. This morning I skipped class because of all the rain (I didn't have my polka dot galloshes with me, can you blame me?). I took one look at how hard it was raining and rolled back over and went to sleep. Shawn and I went to Lizard's Thicket for lunch. I had squash casserole, sliced tomatoes, black eyed peas and sliced peaches. I love peaches of any kind.
This afternoon I worked at IHPL. We have been busy busy busy. After work I treated myself to a little shopping trip to the Eckerd's in Five Points. I got Bonnie Bell Cotton Candy chap stick, Jessica Simpson Dessert Plumping Lip Gloss, Sprite and Chocolate Covered Pretzels.
Tonight I went to the gym with my friend A. I am trying to get into bathing suit condition by summer. We are trying to do abs hardcore.
Still getting caught up from the Masters, so thats all for now...

Getting Back Into The Routine...
The Masters Tournament ended Sunday and I couldn't be happier about it. I had a great time, but the hours were really long. I was worn out and ready to be done by about Wednesday. Thursday I worked 13 hours straight. My feet are still killing me. I am now getting back into my routine and making up skome schoolwork I missed. I will post pictures soon.
Since Saturday I have been housesitting for a friend. In addition to housesitting I am watching her adorable puppy. It is so nice to be alone and have some time to myself, especially since I am having to recover from such a hard week last week. It is so nice to be able to take a bath whenever I want ( I only have a shower here in Columbia).
Today I registered for my fall classes. Yay! My last semester of school. My time here at USC has been and still is a blast, but I can't wait to move on to the next phase. I am espcially looking forward to drawing a salary (hopefully) and being about to set up a little home of some kind for myself and my pets somewhere.
Tonight Shawn visits. Oh, wait thats him outside!!! Gotta Go...

On My Way...
to the Masters Golf Tournament in warm, sunny Augusta Georgia. I will be getting up at 3:30 am in order to be at Augusta National at 6:30 am. This is already looking like it's going to be a long week. I probably won't have time to post at The Bubble this week.
I gave Shawn all his birthday gifts early, since I will be at the tournament all week. He loved all of them and we got to spend some precious quality time together. This is us.
